Intoxalock, a U.S. company that provides vehicle ignition interlock breathalyzer devices, suffered a cyberattack on March 14 that has left drivers across the country unable to start their vehicles. The attack disrupted the company's systems, preventing it from performing required device calibrations. Without calibration, the devices lock out drivers. Reports of affected drivers span from Maine to Minnesota and New York. Intoxalock has not disclosed the nature of the attack, whether ransomware was involved, or if any ransom demand was received. The company serves 150,000 drivers across 46 states and has not provided a recovery timeline.
