Kivo is an open-source, cross-platform desktop HTTP client built with Rust and Tauri, positioned as a lightweight alternative to tools like Postman. Version 0.3.5 brings cross-platform storage fixes, a smart setup wizard, and native macOS/Linux support. Features include workspace/collection management, tabbed interface, environment variables, auto-updating with signature verification, and local-first data storage. An upcoming JSON query engine for filtering response bodies is in development. Available for Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), and Linux (DEB/RPM).

Looks like a solid lightweight alternative to Postman. Rust + Tauri with local-first storage is a great combo, especially for speed and privacy.

Nice to see something in this space that’s not bloated, Postman has honestly become too heavy for quick use. The Rust and Tauri combo makes a lot of sense here.
The local-first approach is a big plus too. Feels more developer-friendly instead of forcing everything into the cloud.
Also that upcoming JSON query engine sounds interesting, if it’s smooth to use, that alone could make people switch.

Super cool. Ever plan on making a web client for it? I use my own simple HTTP client a lot and it would be super useful to have this one available for the web
