CSS now supports conditional logic with the new if() function, available in Chrome 137. This feature allows developers to write conditional styles based on custom properties and style queries, eliminating the need for complex class name management. The if() function works like a switch statement, checking conditions in order and applying the first matching style. Combined with the new reading-flow property for accessibility, developers can create more dynamic and maintainable stylesheets without relying heavily on JavaScript for state management.
