A new open-source algorithm for simulating CRT raster-scanning has been developed, offering significant motion blur reduction and less eyestrain compared to traditional techniques like BFI. It has been added to the Retroarch emulator and is available on Shadertoy and GitHub. The simulation works on 240Hz+ displays and is suitable for both real-time and slow-motion modes. It requires a performant GPU and ideally a high refresh rate display.
