Docker has announced general availability of Custom MCP Catalogs and Profiles for managing Model Context Protocol servers. Custom Catalogs let organizations curate and distribute approved collections of MCP servers as immutable OCI artifacts via Docker Hub or private registries. Profiles allow developers to create named groupings of MCP servers with saved configurations for different workflows (e.g., coding vs. planning), control which tools are active to manage context window size, and share setups with teammates via push/pull commands. The tutorial walks through creating a custom catalog with both Docker-official and self-built MCP servers, pushing it to Docker Hub, importing it in Docker Desktop, and creating/switching between profiles. Both features are available starting with Docker Desktop 4.63.
