California voters passed the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) in November 2020. It replaces the 2018 California Consumer Privacy Act ( CCPA ) and is often described as a cousin to the EU’s GDPR law. The law applies to all for-profit organizations within the state. It also requires compliance from anyone doing business in California.
