CoreWeave has signed a multi-year GPU cloud deal with Anthropic to power Claude at production scale using Nvidia hardware across US data centres. The agreement arrives one day after CoreWeave announced a $21 billion expansion of its Meta partnership, and means nine of the ten leading AI model providers now use CoreWeave's platform. CoreWeave generated $5.13 billion in revenue in 2025 and is guiding for over $12 billion in 2026, backed by a contracted backlog exceeding $66 billion. The deals reflect CoreWeave's strategy to diversify beyond its heavy Microsoft dependency (67% of 2025 revenue) by locking in long-duration contracts with major AI labs. The piece also notes the structural tension facing AI companies: expanding Nvidia GPU dependency in the short term while simultaneously developing custom silicon to reduce that dependency long term.
