GitHub Copilot now offers data residency for US and EU regions, ensuring all inference processing stays within the designated geography. US government customers also get FedRAMP Moderate authorization compliance. All generally available Copilot features are supported, including agent mode, inline suggestions, chat, code review, and CLI. Available models at launch include GPT-5.4, Claude Sonnet 4.6, and Claude Opus 4.6, though Gemini models are not yet supported due to GCP limitations. Data-resident and FedRAMP requests carry a 10% increase in the model multiplier. Enterprise and organization admins can enable these policies from Copilot settings, with additional regions like Japan and Australia planned for later in 2026.
