A walkthrough of the Containerization Assist (CA) feature integrated into the Azure Kubernetes Service VS Code extension. CA is an AI-powered tool that analyzes a source code repository, detects language, framework, and dependencies, then generates production-grade Dockerfiles and Kubernetes manifests. The demo shows a Spring Boot app being containerized end-to-end: generating deployment files via GitHub Copilot models, setting up an Azure Container Registry, configuring OIDC-based managed identity for pipeline access, generating a GitHub Actions CI/CD workflow, and creating a pull request — all from within VS Code. Upcoming work includes monorepo support for multi-module deployments.
