Confluent Cloud's Q1 2026 release introduces several major features. Queues for Kafka (KIP-932) reaches general availability alongside Apache Kafka 4.2, enabling native queue semantics via share groups to consolidate traditional messaging and streaming workloads. Kafka Copy Paste (KCP), a free open source CLI tool, automates migration from hosted Kafka to Confluent Cloud, cutting migration times from months to days with near-zero downtime. Scalability improvements include Enterprise cluster autoscaling up to 32 eCKUs (7.5 GB/s throughput), client quotas for Enterprise and Freight clusters, and fetch-from-follower support for Enterprise clusters. Confluent Intelligence expands with multivariate anomaly detection, Agent2Agent (A2A) integration for Streaming Agents, MCP server official support, and expanded vector search providers including Azure Cosmos DB and Amazon S3 Vectors. Tableflow is now generally available on Azure, and WarpStream Tableflow offers a BYOC architecture. Additional updates include Flink pool-level RBAC, 1,000 CFU compute pool capacity limits, and the Streams Rebalance Protocol (KIP-1071) for faster Kafka Streams rebalancing.
