Commodore has announced the Commodore 64C Ultimate, a slimline FPGA-based recreation of the 1986-era C64C computer, now available for pre-order with shipping expected in late 2026. To maximize authenticity, Commodore reacquired the original injection molds used to manufacture the C64C plastic housing 40 years ago, including their original production imperfections. Three editions are planned: Basic Beige ($299.99), Starlight Edition ($349.99) with LED lighting, and Founder's Edition ($499.99) with gold-plated accents. The hardware offers cycle-accurate Commodore 64 performance and comes bundled with games, demos, and a spiral-bound user guide.
