No one is irreplaceable at work, and the company will continue without you. It's beneficial to document your work, train others, and be ready to move on to new opportunities. Layoffs can be a challenging experience.

The best type of job security?
If they wait that long to figure it out it’s worse for them too as you would be in a very advantageous position to bargain with.
Also would watch for any attempts to have you document yourself out of a job(aka unknowingly training your replacement).

I get asked why tasks take so long as it is. Imagine if I actually documented things. Lol.
No one is irreplaceable. But some of us get to enjoy knowing the pain our companies would suffer if they ever get rid of us.

This exact thing was about to happen to me just last week.
Only instead of Layoff it was release from the project, to save budget.
The management did not even bother to ask my team lead about my work and just assumed I am a burden. It was when my TL fought with them and made them realize what impact would have been if they had removed me.
The 4th panel shows the exact expression I had when I realized this fact.

they might find out if you take some days off, the bad news is they might find out they don’t need you. :D
