This is brutal. I remember, when I was a kid, that making $60K a year was a solid income. Now, anything less than $150K combined won’t allow you to live in the NE of the US. Feels absurd.
I certainly don’t make that much. I can’t find work (20+ YOE, development, product) and I’m selling t-shirts for the miserably employed to make ends meet. I like it but the income is problematic.
