I love this! A clear message presented here.
It’s always great to first get your work done before you talk other stories that are not productive and/or steal your time. Once time is lost, you can never take it back.

I do like these days once in a while though.
Chatting with my coworkers can be quite fun, and it’s important to have fun as well.

I encountered this at my previous job, when I was not yet a programmer. I worked in an office with 3 colleagues. In the morning, while they were chatting, I worked intensively, thanks to which I had almost 2 hours free by lunchtime. And I spent them in the gym and on the massage table.
Colleagues, seeing this, complained to the management that I was resting too much, but when checking it turned out that I was doing more than everyone else and they left me alone :)
