(comic) Getting a raise

The truth hurts; I worked for my cousin for 8 years, in which, I recieved yearly raises of 1$ for the first 5 years, then 25c raises thereafter.
With that, I was told not to talk about wages etc with my coworkers.
Eventually, I spoke openly about my wage with a trusted coworker (who had started working 2 years after I did). We found out that our starting wages were very different to begin with, then the difference in the following yearly raises. Wage breakdown as follows 👇

Starting wages:
Coworker - 13/h (minimum wage was 12.50 at the time)
Myself - 15 (min wage 10.50 at the time I believe)
We both stopped working at the company in the same year
Ending wages:
Coworker after 6 years - 18.50/h
(First 3 years were 50c raises, at which point we spoke and I argued with my cousin to give better wages - to which he responded with a raise to 18 the usual raise time, followed by 0.25c raises the last 2 years)
Myself after 8 years - 20.50/h
(Ending year being 2023, I fought for higher wages again, as my coworker and I rarely had money to live life after the cost of living. Higher wages was denied as “business wasn’t profitable enough to support higher wages”)
FYI, we worked in a clean Lab for a vaping hardware/eliquid manufacturer.
It was a small company, being my cousin (Owner, rarely helped), aunt (receptionist), 1 unrelated coworker (being the one mentioned above), and myself. My coworker and I essentially ran the entire company, yet struggled to live life due to the cost of living, while my cousin was driving a recent Porsche, with an Escalade for the family, and recent Mercedes C63 along with his 700k+ house. Yet he couldn’t afford to give us decent wages?
