<p>Never gets old.  I get given a basic description of a project and then in the same meeting get asked how long it will take.  My default answer now is, “I’ll let you know when you send me detailed requirements”.</p>
<p>Then if they ask me to “ballpark” it, I say “6 months”. Then when they scoff at that I say, “maybe I misunderstood what you want.  Send me detailed requirements and I’ll give you a more accurate timeline”. Gets 'em every time.</p>
