You could report this to the CEO by sending your report attached to a forward of the e-mail you received, with timestamps. Honestly, a number of the comics on this page seem to have a degree of learned helplessness. True, the CEO probably won’t care that you were only given one day. But they probably will care that the manager disobeyed instructions.
