An undergraduate robotics engineering student at Olin College spent a summer internship at MIT Lincoln Laboratory developing and testing an algorithm for collaborative underwater navigation between a human diver and a robotic vehicle. The work addressed the challenge of navigating without GPS in underwater environments. The internship culminated in real-world field tests at the Atlantic Ocean, Charles River, and Lake Superior, where the student served as a lead field tester. MIT Lincoln Laboratory's summer research program applications are currently open.
