Azure App Configuration provides a centralized store for shared configuration settings across loosely coupled, distributed application components. This walkthrough covers creating an App Configuration service via the Azure Portal, including key decisions: resource group/region placement, pricing plan, geo-replication for redundancy, access control (recommending Entra ID Managed Identities over access keys), soft-delete retention settings, network access options (public, private endpoints, or disabled), and encryption. After creation, roles must be assigned before anyone can add settings, with propagation taking up to 15 minutes.
