Completely disagree. Comments as long as they are not completely redundant can help the next developer that comes along navigate trough the codebase

True. Out of date comments are common in our codebase. It actually increases the workload because people assume things work as mentioned in the comment.
And redundant descriptive comments can be overly distracting too.

Funny that it mentions comments are “bad” when in the project I’m now on it’s required to document what functions do and the why of features.
