A “thin client” setup, is where you use a remote server to do all of your work. This remote machine can be either a VPS like digital ocean, or even some powerful rig in your house. Then you use a “thin client” like a laptop, or even a tablet, to interact with, and do actual work on the remote server.

Now this setup is perfect for me because I am a web developer and I love using the terminal to do my work with neovim, and tmux. By using a thin client setup, I can get a VPS set up just once, and then I can remote into the machine with whatever machine I wanted. Like a laptop, or even a tablet. no weird quirks, no different versions of libraries on different machines. It all just works because, well, shoot its all the same computer.
