The new hardware delivers 2x throughput, 50% better performance-per-Watt, and up to 60% higher rack throughput compared to Gen 12. Initial latency regressions with Turin were resolved through FL2, Cloudflare's Rust-based rewrite of their core request handling layer, which improved memory access patterns and delivered up to 50% more requests per CPU and 70% lower latency. AMD's Platform Quality of Service (PQOS) extensions also contributed by enabling finer control over cache and memory bandwidth.
