GitHub is deprecating three legacy Copilot metrics APIs on March 2nd and April 2nd, 2026. The User-level Feature Engagement Metrics API, Direct Data Access API, and Copilot Metrics API will be replaced by newer, more comprehensive usage metrics endpoints. The new APIs provide unified metrics with expanded telemetry including edit modes, agent usage, suggested versus accepted lines of code, language and model breakdowns, and fine-grained permissions.
