FOSDEM 2026 took place on 31 January and 1 February in Brussels, and it was a great weekend for the ClickHouse community, both inside the conference rooms and out.

ClickHouse is a leading platform for open-source columnar database technology and real-time analytics. With ClickHouse, developers can delve into documentation, case studies, and performance benchmarks to learn how to build highly scalable and performant analytical systems. It provides tips about ClickHouse's storage engine, query execution, and distributed architecture. Developers can gain insights into their data in real-time, enabling them to make informed decisions and extract  business insights.

ClickHouse had a strong presence at FOSDEM 2026 in Brussels, hosting a community dinner with 106 attendees and delivering multiple technical talks. Key presentations included: hotpatching production ClickHouse instances using LLVM XRay to inject logging and profiling without rebuilds; a deep dive into inverted indexes for text search at scale in OLAP databases; the challenges of gradually integrating Rust into a large C++ codebase; and a low-level exploration of memcpy optimization. Community talks covered real-time geospatial visualization with ClickHouse and dynamic bot blocking using access-log analytics.
