Claude’s Agent Teams are pointless.
For most things, anyway.
3–4x the tokens. Real coordination overhead. For a bug fix or a refactor, you’re slower and poorer than a single session.
But there are exactly 3 cases where nothing else gets close: → Parallel code review (bias isolation is the key — one agent anchors the whole review) → Competing hypothesis debugging (five agents actively trying to disprove each other) → Cross-layer features (frontend, backend, tests all moving at once)
The catch nobody talks about: you’re not prompting AI anymore. You’re running sprint planning. Enable delegate mode or your most expensive agent is doing junior work. Brief teammates like it’s their first day — they inherit nothing from your main session.
The local version has a ceiling. 3–5 teammates max. Your machine feels it. No browser preview. No team collaboration.
But it changed how I think about what’s actually possible.
