Anthropic has introduced Ultraplan, a research preview feature for Claude Code that moves the planning phase of complex coding tasks from the local terminal to a cloud-based environment. Developers trigger it via CLI, then review the AI-generated plan in a browser with inline comments, emoji reactions, and a structured outline sidebar. Once approved, the plan can be executed either in the cloud (with diff view and PR creation) or teleported back to the local terminal for execution with local tools. The feature is designed to reduce friction in coordinating large-scale migrations and service refactoring, though it requires a GitHub repository and Claude Code web account, and cannot run simultaneously with Claude Code's Remote Control feature. It remains in research preview and is subject to change.
