City Detect, a startup using computer vision AI to help local governments monitor urban blight, has raised a $13M Series A led by Prudence Venture Capital. The company mounts cameras on public vehicles like garbage trucks to capture building images, then analyzes them for issues like graffiti, illegal dumping, structural damage, and code violations. Operating in at least 17 cities including Dallas and Miami, it claims to process thousands of buildings per week versus ~50 manually. Privacy features include automatic blurring of faces and license plates. The new funding will go toward hiring engineers and expanding storm-damage detection technology across the U.S.
