Cisco announced several cybersecurity extensions at RSA Conference 2026 aimed at securing AI agents in enterprise environments. Key announcements include: extensions to Cisco Duo IAM for discovering and applying security policies to AI agents via an MCP gateway; DefenseClaw, an open source secure agent framework built on NVIDIA's OpenShell runtime with code scanning, AI BOM, and CodeGuard rules; an Explorer Edition of Cisco AI Defense for testing AI models integrated with CI/CD pipelines; an Agent Runtime SDK for embedding security policies into builds; and expanded Splunk Enterprise Security with AI-driven risk scoring, automated incident response agents, and federated search. A Cisco survey found that while 85% of organizations are experimenting with AI agents, only 5% have deployed them in production, largely due to trust and security gaps.
