Cisco has donated the AGNTCY project to the Linux Foundation to create open infrastructure for AI agent communication. The project provides discovery services, identity verification, messaging protocols, and observability frameworks for multi-agent systems. Major tech companies including Dell, Google Cloud, Oracle, and Red Hat are joining as founding members. AGNTCY aims to prevent ecosystem fragmentation by establishing open standards for agent-to-agent communication, complementing existing protocols like Google's Agent2Agent and Anthropic's Model Context Protocol.
