<p>Never heard of this “Prompt API” but it sounds tough to standardize. “Access to on-device AI (Gemini Nano)” implies that on Chrome we’d be running Gemini Nano; would competitors like Microsoft or Mozilla also ship Gemini Nano? Feels like to standardize this you’d want to let a developer pick their own model so regardless of which browser you’re running on at least it’s more consistent; maybe even an option of standardizing the seed so no matter who runs it on any hardware it behaves more predictably? Interesting either way.</p>
