Checkmarx this week revealed it has added support for the Kiro artificial intelligence (AI) coding tool provided by AWS.

Checkmarx has added support for AWS's Kiro AI coding tool to its Developer Assist platform, which uses AI to surface vulnerabilities before code is committed to a CI/CD pipeline. The integration plugs into Kiro Powers, AWS's specialized agent framework, and can reportedly eliminate 90% of vulnerabilities before they enter the DevOps workflow. The announcement comes amid growing concern that first-generation AI coding tools are generating more vulnerabilities than traditional pipeline security can catch, largely because LLMs trained on open source code inherit and reproduce its flaws at scale. Checkmarx Developer Assist already supports other VS Code-based AI coding tools like Cursor and Windsurf.
