A lot of people think they can use ChatGPT to write their code without knowing how to actually code themselves. Then they just end up confused when they get errors they don’t understand. Aye, Grok and Claude. I’d mention Gemini since its currently top-charts but their user and subscription options are too crappy. Qwen3 is by far the best local model at the moment because “Qwen3-30B-A3B” It filters through 30 billion params and uses only 3 after selecting applicable relationships. Hate to say it bro but GPT and Deepseek are crap now-a-days.

and for DeepSeek, that is not coding. even when provided very explicit details and instructions it often fails to implement or recognize when it’s using clearly inefficient or even destructive patterns. Most OpenAI models are capable, but GPT-4.1 and the Xo models are some of my favorites.
4.1 has a great ability to match the patterns and style of your code unlike any other model I’ve used, and it doesn’t go off on it’s own outside of the scope of work like Claude models do.
Claude is still more intelligent when it comes to code, and often can assist with much more difficult things than 4.1 can, but for refactors and most day-to-day things I find 4.1 to be much more enjoyable to work with.

Umm DeepSeek is not that great at coding 😂 I wouldn’t bother with it.
ChatGPT for everyday quick stuff, and Claude for when ChatGPT gets stuck or it’s a big change.
And if Claude gets stuck, turn on reasoning. Claude will get itself unstuck for the most part.
