Yes, I agree. ChatGPT is a good tool for having a mentor, however there so many other avenues a person can occupy. Do not cut yourself short my friend…

For now it is just an auxiliary tool, but we will see later.

I’m excited to see where ChatGPT and BingAI go when it comes to developer help. Hit or miss at the beginning but the potential is big.

While eventually I plan to look for a position as a junior dev, ChatGPT has helped me cement programming concepts I would occasionally trip up on. I only use it to help with very specific issues with things I don’t understand by giving it as small of a code snippet as possible. And when I ask why and how its solution works, it explains it so I can walk away having learned something. I then implement it and practice variations of it so I can recall it.
It has saved me tons of time searching, trying to find help on a specific problem. I feel like search engines are just terrible nowadays, and in my opinion, stackoverflow is rarely ever helpful.
