The MIT PKG Center's IDEAS Social Innovation Incubator celebrated its 25th anniversary at a showcase and awards ceremony, distributing nearly $100,000 in prizes to student-led social ventures. Top award winner Beyond Words is an assistive iPhone/Apple Watch app for nonverbal individuals. Other winners addressed healthcare access in India, STEM education in Africa, climate resilience, and AI-powered tools for underserved communities. The event also announced a $150,000 gift from the Morgridge Family Foundation and inaugural MIT Climate Project Student Innovators Awards for four teams working on climate challenges in Peru, Nigeria, and the Caribbean.
