CachyOS has shipped Linux 7.0, one of the first distros to do so. The version bump from 6.x to 7.0 is cosmetic — Linus Torvalds simply felt 6.19 was too high a number. CachyOS's build also includes backported tweaks from the upcoming 7.1 kernel, notably enabling Intel FRED by default for Intel Core Ultra Series 3 users and introducing a new NTFS driver that improves dual-boot compatibility with Windows and boosts data transfer rates between drives.
