C# has evolved significantly from its enterprise-focused origins into a modern, cross-platform language with features like records, pattern matching, nullable reference types, and async/await. The .NET ecosystem has been transformed with .NET Core (now simply .NET), offering cross-platform support, modular architecture, and excellent performance. Modern C# includes minimal APIs for quick web development, LINQ for database querying, source generators for compile-time code generation, and frameworks like Blazor for frontend development and MAUI for cross-platform mobile apps.

C# is cool again and you can't avoid it anymore...

I agree. I started using C# in 2017.
I liked all the new stuff (LINQ, expression-body methods, lambdas, etc)
I honestly did not understand why everyone thought C# was a nightmare, because I did not know what C# looked like in 2002 or even 2010. I knew the C# from 2017 and beyond.
I started using C# a lot more starting 2018-2019 without my first non-internship job and we were already using .NET Core.
Now, I understand that people don’t hate C#. They hate the C# from the early 2000s, except I do not know that C#. I never used it. Now I understand the difference so I can at least accept that they have a reason to hate it.
Personally, today, in 2025, I like C#, because I can write a mix of functional (YES, FUNCTIONAL) and OOP code. I can make sure that my functions are as pure as they can be. I can make sure that I use SOLID principles.
I tried to bring the stuff I know in C# where I can have three distinct projects each for a separate layer (UI, BL, DAL) into JavaScript, and it’s a nightmare. So much harder to keep things abstract and not allow the BL to be aware of the DAL and so forth.
I used to think that JS is better than C#, but today I love C# more than JS/TS. There are some stuff in TS that C# cannot do. (<code>function getVegetable(): &quot;potato&quot; | &quot;tomato&quot;</code>). Other than that C# is the way to go.

You probably work in microsoft, the language is total garbage

I started using it since January and I haven’t stopped since

still feels like a language designed by corporate committee. I wrote C# from 2001 to 2016. I came back for a little while and hated it even with the new cool features mentioned. It’s fine but not for me anymore.
MAUI and Blazor for example reek of Microsoft’s corporate fingerprints. Hard to explain but it leaves me feeling sad.

Finally someone with a nice sense of humor! Love the video bud, I used to like C# a lot! I can totally understand it’s even more powerful nowadays.
