ByteDance has paused the global launch of Seedance 2.0, its AI video generation model, due to copyright concerns. The model launched in China in February and quickly went viral, but also drew cease-and-desist letters from major Hollywood studios including Disney, which accused ByteDance of a 'virtual smash-and-grab of Disney's IP.' The company had planned a mid-March global rollout but is now delaying while engineers and lawyers work to address intellectual property issues.
