ADT, one of the world's largest home security providers, has confirmed a cyber intrusion after the ShinyHunters hacking group attempted extortion. The attackers claim to have stolen over 10 million Salesforce records containing PII and internal corporate data, while ADT describes the breach as a 'limited set' of names, phone numbers, addresses, and partial Social Security numbers. Have I Been Pwned lists 5.5 million unique email addresses from the breach. ShinyHunters says it published the data after ransom negotiations with ADT broke down. The attack appears to have targeted cloud-based environments rather than physical alarm systems.
