A fake Bitwarden CLI (version 2026.4.0) sat on npm for about 90 minutes on April 22 before removal, stealing GitHub tokens, SSH keys, AWS/GCP/Azure secrets, and shell history via a preinstall hook. Separately, elementary-data 0.23.3 was pushed to PyPI on April 24 through a GitHub Actions script injection — the attacker used GITHUB_TOKEN to forge a signed release commit and trigger the legitimate publishing pipeline without touching main. The payload runs on every Python invocation via a .pth file and exfiltrates SSH keys, cloud credentials, Kubernetes configs, and crypto wallet keys. If you installed either package during those windows, rotate everything on that machine.</p>
<h2>Unpatched RCE in SGLang via malicious GGUF files</h2>
<p>SGLang, an LLM inference engine running on over 400,000 GPUs, has an unpatched RCE. The attack vector is a crafted GGUF model file with a Jinja2 payload in the tokenizer chat template. When SGLang’s reranking endpoint processes any request, it renders the template in an unsandboxed Jinja2 environment — arbitrary Python execution on the host. The attacker needs to get you to load the model first, which is achievable via supply chain attacks on Hugging Face. The fix is straightforward: swap in Jinja2’s SandboxedEnvironment, the same fix already applied in llama.cpp’s CVE-2024-34359. It’s not patched yet.</p>
