Meta and Hugging Face launched OpenEnv Hub, a community platform for building and sharing agentic environments. These environments provide sandboxed, secure contexts that define tools, APIs, and execution requirements for AI agents during both training and deployment. The initiative includes the OpenEnv 0.1 specification, integration with RL libraries like TRL, TorchForge, and veRL, and a hub where developers can create, test, and share environments. The platform aims to standardize how agents interact with tools while maintaining safety and clarity through well-defined execution boundaries.
