Visual Studio's March 2026 update introduces several GitHub Copilot enhancements. Custom agents can now be defined as `.agent.md` files in your repository, letting teams build specialized Copilot agents with access to workspace tools, preferred models, and MCP connections. Agent skills provide reusable instruction sets picked up automatically from repository directories. A new `find_symbol` tool gives agent mode language-aware symbol navigation across C++, C#, Razor, and TypeScript codebases. Enterprise MCP governance lets admins enforce allowlists for MCP servers. On the diagnostics side, a new 'Profile with Copilot' command in Test Explorer automates test profiling, and inline perf tips during debugging surface optimization suggestions in real time. Copilot can also fix NuGet vulnerabilities directly from Solution Explorer. Additionally, HTML rich copy/cut now preserves syntax highlighting when pasting code into external applications.
