Yoopta is a free, open-source headless rich text editor for React that enables building Notion-like editors or custom CMS applications. It ships with 20+ block plugins (paragraphs, headings, lists, tables, accordions, tabs, media embeds, and more), drag-and-drop block reordering, keyboard shortcuts, multi-block selection, export to HTML/Markdown/plain text, TypeScript support, and theme presets including Shadcn UI. The editor is built on a plugin architecture allowing custom block types. Upcoming features include real-time collaboration, AI inline editing, an AI plugin prompt generator, a plugin marketplace, and MDX export/import. It is compared favorably against TipTap, Lexical, and Quill on features available for free.
