Build a Rocket Boy, developer of MindsEye, has reportedly undergone another round of layoffs, with approximately 170 employees let go, leaving around 80 staff remaining. This marks the third round of redundancies in the past year, following the closure of BARB France in March and earlier cuts after MindsEye's troubled launch. CEO Mark Gerhard previously attributed layoffs to 'organised espionage and corporate sabotage' and had warned more cuts were coming after the studio's publishing deal with IOI Partners ended. The studio has initiated a 'reset' for MindsEye to address bugs and performance issues that plagued its launch.
