BT Group and Nscale have announced a partnership to build up to 14MW of Nvidia-powered sovereign AI data centres across three existing BT infrastructure sites in the UK. Nscale will construct the facilities while BT provides connectivity, leveraging BT's national fibre grid to deliver low-latency AI compute without greenfield construction costs. Both companies are founding members of the new UK Sovereign AI Industry Forum. The deal reinforces Nscale's central role in the UK government's national AI infrastructure strategy, following its $2B Series C at a $14.6B valuation, Nvidia's £500M investment, and involvement in Stargate UK. The partnership positions Nscale as a UK-sovereign alternative to US hyperscalers like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google.
