Two developer-facing filters are provided: `block_core_breadcrumbs_items` for modifying the final breadcrumb trail items before rendering (with label, url, and allow_html properties), and a taxonomy/term filter that controls which taxonomy and terms appear in the breadcrumb trail for non-hierarchical post types. The taxonomy filter accepts settings for preferred taxonomy slug and term slug, plus post type and post ID parameters for per-post customization, with defined fallback behavior when preferred values are unavailable.
