Brave Browser version 1.89 brings the Shred button feature to Android, previously available only on iOS. The Shred button lets users instantly delete all data stored by a specific website — including cookies and local storage — without logging out of other sites. Users can trigger it manually from the tab switcher, contextual menu, or Shields panel, or configure Auto Shred to automatically clear site data when tabs are closed or the browser restarts. Auto Shred replaces the older 'forget me when I close this site' feature on Android, with existing preferences migrated automatically. Because Android has fewer platform restrictions than iOS, Brave can more thoroughly clean up first-party storage on Android.
