Boom Supersonic raised $300M to commercialize its aircraft turbine engine as a stationary power plant called Superpower. Crusoe will purchase 29 turbines for $1.25 billion to generate 1.21 gigawatts for its data centers, with deliveries starting in 2027. The turbines share 80% of parts with Boom's aircraft engine and will be delivered in shipping containers at $1,033 per kilowatt. Boom plans to use profits from turbine sales to fund development of its Overture supersonic aircraft, similar to how SpaceX uses Starlink revenue to fund rocket development.
