A Delaware Chancery Court has ruled against Krafton, ordering the immediate reinstatement of Ted Gill as CEO of Unknown Worlds and restoration of his operational control over Subnautica 2's early access launch. The judge found Krafton breached its employment agreement by terminating the studio's key employees without valid cause, concluding the publisher used the firings as a pretext to avoid a $250 million earnout bonus. The court also extended the deadline for the founders to meet the bonus targets to September 15, 2026, and dismissed Krafton's defense that the founders had improperly downloaded company data. Krafton stated it disagrees with the ruling and is evaluating its options, while further litigation over damages remains pending.
