Bluesky, the decentralised social network alternative to X/Twitter, is now open for everyone. Invite codes are no longer needed. It has already attracted 3 million users despite being invite-only. Bluesky plans to support federation in the near future.

I kind of feel, that at this point most people don’t care about this anymore.
There was a moment, which Mastodon used perfectly, when people were mad at Twitter. Right now we are almost back to status quo.

TBH, I never understood twitter, and most of other social networks as well and at this point, I don’t even care…

I’ve seen close to no hype for this.
Even Mastodon… once people figured that was slow and full of CP, people stopped using it…
This will most likely end up as another useless clone. Especially if X ends up being federated at some point.

I had invitation codes. I haven’t signed up yet. I do not need them anymore. I do not care Bluesky or others. I have accounts on some social media websites. They are enough for me. They do not offer anything than wasting our times.

Even with all things happening on X, the platform is too big to be easily dethroned. They need to make a massive effort to get people to stop using it.
