Emerald AI, in collaboration with NVIDIA, EPRI, National Grid, and Nebius, demonstrated how 'power-flexible' AI factories can autonomously reduce power consumption during peak grid demand. Using the Emerald AI Conductor Platform on a cluster of 96 NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra GPUs at a London AI factory, the team simulated grid stress scenarios — including the famous Euro 2020 TV pickup surge — and achieved 100% alignment with over 200 power targets. High-priority AI workloads maintained full throughput while lower-priority jobs were temporarily throttled. The technology promises faster grid connections for AI factories and reduced need for costly infrastructure overbuilds, benefiting both operators and consumers.
